NOOSA | East Coast Natural Beauty

NOOSA | East Coast Natural Beauty

THE UPSIDE: stunning beaches and sunsets, local friendliness, great produce and some excellent dining options.

THE DOWNSIDE: you'd have to try really hard to find much to complain about here. For me, my only regret is not reviewing more places, as there were many great restaurants we visited that I didn't take notes on at the time.

Noosa Beach, and the river side known as Noosaville are a truly stunning location on the East Coast of Australia and great for any kind of relaxing-style holiday. You're spoilt for choice when it comes to dining options, and the area caters for cheap and cheerful as well as elegant fine dining in a relaxed atmosphere. The locals are super friendly, the local produce is outstanding and the natural beauty of the region really speaks for itself. On top of all that, it's not overpopulated or over-priced. A special place.

Must give mention to Rock Salt, Thomas Corner Eatery and the local Farmers Market - we had a gorgeous birthday dinner at Rock Salt, lovely casual meal at Thomas Corner Eatery and a great brunch at the markets, along with the world's biggest smoothie. All wonderful places to visit in and around Noosa.

THE UPSIDE: delicious food and excellent staff

Arrived late into Noosa from Sydney one night and the staff here were exceptionally accomodating, and there was no packing up around us even after other guests had left. Thoroughly enjoyed the meal and it's a lovely room. I raved about the lamb and my partner bought a gift voucher for his mum to visit on her next stay - we were that impressed. Great start to a birthday weekend away! TripAdvisor link here.

NOOSA FERRY | Can't go past it!

THE UPSIDE: the entire boat of people sang happy birthday when the Captain announced we were having a special occasion (it's fairly small and everyone was very friendly, made it quite fun), and BYO for the sunset cruise.

THE DOWNSIDE: there really isn't one.

We bought an all day cruise pass and used it twice which was excellent value: a nice way to get between the river and the beach and to see the area. We also took a leisurely sunset cruise before our dinner booking at RockSalt - cruised the river, had a few drinks which we were able to take on board, then hopped off right at our dinner spot. Wish there was something like this in Sydney. Relaxed, fun, pretty sunset viewing and convenient. Total winner! TripAdvisor link here.
