BENNELONG, SYDNEY | Simply Gorgeous
THE UPSIDE: stunning room with a romantic, sophisticated feel and windows that frame the harbour beautifully. Views from everywhere inside and amazing food.
THE DOWNSIDE: it’s a touch pricey.
We dined in The Circle which is one of the casual dining areas in Bennelong, and by casual that really just means that you’re not locked into an a la carte menu as the food is designed more for snacking and pre-show nibbles for Opera House guests. We had a quick bite there with some colleagues before seeing My Fair Lady and it was a lovely start to the evening.
The staff were particularly helpful, getting us going early so we didn’t run late and helping out with food and wine choices. Our waitress was especially great, keeping us on task when we got distracted chatting.
I loved the tuna dish and the sparkling Rose we had to start. They do a very unique ‘sausage roll’ that is definitely worth a try, too. You can expect the bill to be a bit pricey, but then again, this isn't your average bar snack.
The Circle is great for a corporate catch up, meet with friends when you want somewhere you can hear each other and for couples looking for something light to eat in a nice setting – or if you want to experience Bennelong and aren’t looking to spend the cost of a full menu. Pop in for drinks or snacks, I highly recommend it. Mood and ambience are big wins here.
